Biography
The scientific activity deals with the design of innovative coatings and methodologies to modulate the wetting behavior of surfaces, providing ceramics, glasses, metals and alloys of super-hydrophobicity, amphiphobicity, switchable hydrophilicity/hydrophobicity and related performances.
Research Interest
In particular, the focus is on the design and fabrication of materials for friction, drag and noise reduction (reference industrial sectors: mechanic, maritime, naval), materials with anti-icing (aerospace, electric conduction systems), anti-soiling, and anti-reflective properties (PV and building industry), materials with improved thermal exchange ability (heat exchangers), anti-corrosion, anti-fouling materials, etc.
